This new modern replacement board replaces both CPU and Driver boards on Williams pinball machines from System 3 to System 7.

The brand new "X1" hardware generation includes a bunch of new features like:
* Completely redesigned virtual machine with improved timing, faster ROM downloads, even lower power usage, and updatable software
* Full short circuit / overcurrent protection on all lamp drivers
* All output transistors now all have "through hole" footprints in parallel with them easy replacement for folks who don't like "surface mount" soldering
* System now recognizes shuffle alley ROMs
* "Easy Test Mode" feature for System 3 games -- Makes it simple to enter test mode on these older games
* And lastly the most popular new feature -- there are headers/support for the Retro Pin Upgrade / Arduino upgrades ( FP25 (new code for Firepower pinball) running on a System Alpha X1 Board )

Note for System 7 games, a separate add-on PCB is required to add the additional sounds/commas connection.

Game software/ROMs are downloaded by USB from any PC, Mac, Chromebook or smartphone -- no app required.

System 3 game settings are done by settings text file, included when downloading software (including freeplay).
